Quality and attention to detail:
To ensure quality worthy of being an heirloom for your family, all work is done by hand. I start with raw, heavy, 100% cotton canvas, I then cut, measure, hand- stretch, prime and hem all of my own canvases. I use artist quality acrylic paints and latex paint, (not craft paints). To achieve the translucent layered effects and patinas my work is known for, it often takes many, many coats of color which is very labor and time intensive. I finish each piece with up to six (6) coats of non-yellowing acrylic varnish for the ultimate in protection against dirt, wear and tear. A final coat of hand-rubbed paste wax is applied for additional protection. Each piece is signed and dated. On work that is derived from historical posters, I have included the original artist's name on the piece. As you can see, quality is my mainstay!

"JOB" Limited Edition
This floorcloth/wallcloth is based on a poster
(c. 1898) created by one of my favorite artists,
Alphonse Maria Mucha; executed in the Art Nouveau style. It was
originally designed as an advertisement for "JOB",
a popular
cigarette paper.
This floorcloth was made for the strong, vibrant, yet feminine
woman; or the man who wants to please her! There is an incredible amount of detail in the execution of this
floorcloth, as individual translucent layers of acrylic are built up to
achieve beautiful color depth. This floorcloth is a limited
edition piece, only 5 will be made!

"Floorcloth Ala Lautrec"
Who doesn't love Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec?
This floorcloth/wallcloth really makes you want to kick up your
heels! It was adapted from Lautrec's famous French poster
(c.1891) for the Moulin Rouge cabaret in Paris. It features the
famous dancer "La Goulue" (The Glutton). I see this
in an interior that has lots of wood to compliment the warm cabaret
atmosphere, of course it would really shake up any interior!

Bicycles" Floorcloth
One of my clients has this design
in her office, it really sets off the rows of books & richly colored
textiles of her office furnishings. This floorcloth design was adapted
from a turn of the century poster (c. 1896) for a bicycle company,
created by American poster and graphic artist Will Bradley. It was
done with deep black acrylic paint, and the blue background was built up
layer by layer using acrylic paint & glaze.

For each of the designs in this web catalog I have included a floorcloth base price for the smallest piece available in that design (e.g. 2’ x 3’ = $300.00). For sizes larger than the base size, the price is determined by square footage price (e.g. multiplying the desired height by the desired width, then multiply by $30.00, or the amount indicated next to each design above.)
